At the Dublin Ch Dog Show Alfie is Green Star Dog - his 59th! Prada is on maternity leave!
For
the THIRD year in a row Alfie has qualified for the Irish Show Dog of
the Year Final in February - this is restricted to the top 40 dogs all
breeds in Ireland.
OCTOBER
All Ireland Bull Breeds Ch Show: Prada takes Green Star (her sixth) under Mr Veiga Portugal. One more to go!

BELFAST CH SHOW - (UK Kennel Club) Alfie wins the Dog CC and BOB (Dianne Spavin GB).

Dundalk Ch Show: Alfie is BOB (Zola Rawson UK) and GROUP 1 (Mr J Schepers Netherlands). Prada is 2nd in Open Bitch.

Saturday Bray Ch Show Alfie is BOB and Group 4. TODAY HE WINS HIS 50TH GREEN STAR!!!!!!
Sunday Irish Ladies Ch Show Alfie is BOB and Group 2. Prada is 2nd in Open Bitch.
JUNE
Two shows this weekend:
Saturday Kilkenny Ch Show Alfie is BOB and Group 3 under two Australian Judges.
Sunday Deise Ch Show Alfie again is BOB and Group 3 under two Irish Judges. Prada is 1st in Intermediate and 3rd in Open.

Cork Ch Show PRADA IS NOW A JUNIOR CHAMPION Alfie is BOB (Louisa Casey Ireland) and then Group 2 (D Lawlor Ireland) - a great day!

Ch Show - Prada keeps up her winning ways and again takes Green Star
Bitch with Alfie getting Reserve Green Star Dog.
At
the first Irish Championship show of the year WE DO THE DOUBLE Alfie is
Green Star Dog and Prada is Green Star Bitch and beats Alfie for Best
of Breed. (Judge M. Martin NI). This show also awards the Celtic Winner
Titles - Alfie wins it for the THIRD year in a row and Prada wins the
Celtic Winner '09 and Junior Celtic Winner '09!
FEBRUARY
Although
we have had no shows this month the IKC have just confirmed that Alfie
is the Annual Champion for 2008 (for the second year in a row) - this
is given to the top dog in each breed who wins the most Green Stars
during the year (and although Alfie did not attend seven of the shows
during the year, he still managed to get about twice as many Green
Stars as the next Ridgeback).
JANUARY
NORTHERN
IRELAND SHOWDOG OF THE YEAR COMPETITION: A great start to the year!!!
Prada finishes in the top ten in the puppy competition (42 all breeds)
and Alfie finishes 3rd in the adult competition (45 all breeds).

Dublin Ch Show At the last Ch show of the year we have a great day. Alfie is BOB (Seamus Oates Ire) and Group Four (T Finney Ire) Prada is 1st in Junior Bitch and Spider (at her first show) is 1st Puppy Bitch.
Alfie's daughter Spider (Hooz a Ridgie - bred/owned by Julie Pratt) came to us for a short holiday.

Alfie takes a day off from showing but Prada is determined not to let the side down because at Banbridge Ch show LESS THAN A WEEK AFTER HER FIRST BIRTHDAY PRADA GIVES US AN EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT - NOW INTO JUNIOR CLASS SHE TAKES BEST BITCH AND HER FIRST GREEN STAR!!!!

Prada's first outing since the beginning of September - she attended the Hound Association of Northern Ireland Open Show and was awarded BOB (Mr A Littlejohn Scotland)

October 08 AT THE RHODESIAN RIDGEBACK CLUB AGM ALFIE HAS AGAIN BEEN AWARDED TOP RIDGEBACK IN IRELAND FOR THE SECOND YEAR!
We haven't been to the last two IKC CH shows (at least the horses are now being exercised) and now Prada has come into season so she will miss the next one.

1 Cooper’s Ch/Ir Ch Veldtkammer Dew To More Duo, superb male in rock hard condition, & very balanced, attractive head, long strong neck & well laid shoulders, good topline & very well angulated rearquarters with good width, well boned, very good feet, very free & active movement.
Unfortunately Prada was not able to go to this show as she has injured her toe.

Alfie Jnr continues his winning ways in England and is proving to be a hit with the breed specialists. At the City of Birmingham Ch Show under Kirsteen Maidment (Osebeni) he is 1st Minor Puppy dog !
At the start of the circuit (Hound Association Ch Show) Alfie takes BOB under Greg Eva (President of the Kennel Union of Southern Africa) and goes on to take Group 2 (Mr R Greer New Zealand)
Rhodesian Ridgeback World Congress (Richard Van Aken, South Africa) Ch Show Alfie 3rd Ch Dog and Prada 2nd Puppy Bitch
Clonmel International Show (Ms O Nevo, Israel) Alfie 2nd Ch Dog PRADA GOES BEST PUPPY IN BREED AND TAKES GROUP 2 IN THE PUPPY GROUP!!!!!!
Tralee Ch Show (Mr C Jouanchicot, France) Alfie takes the Green Star and Prada 1st PB
At the two Ch Shows in the first weekend this month, Bangor and North Down Alfie takes BOB and at the Monkstown International Ch show Alfie again takes BOB with Prada taking 1st PB at both and Reserve Green Star at Bangor.
July 08
Alfie jnr (Hooz the Double) continues his winning ways by taking 1st Minor PD at his second Ch show outing (Leeds under Colin Ashmore)
At Dundalk Ch Show Alfie takes Green Star and BOB and Group 4. Prada was first in Puppy Bitch
Meanwhile in England, Alfie jnr makes his show debut in style (Hooz the Double owned by Billy Bowden) takes 1st in Minor PD Qualifying for Crufts on his first outing and then taking Best Minor Puppy in Show at Midland & Northern Rhodesian Ridgeback Ch Show judge Ms J Parker (Azuli)
Critique: 1st Bowden & Quin’s Hooz The Double. Really liked this young dog. 6 months, red wheaten. Pleasing head with well set ears, good bone and feet. Nice body length and angulations. When settled he showed good length and evenness of movement. Will watch with interest.

June 08 Kilkenny Ch Show Alfie takes Green Star (his 33rd) BOB and goes on to take Group 1 (his 6th!!) Not to be outdone - Prada keeps her winning ways with another 1st in Puppy Bitch and Res Green Star
Munster Ch Show Alfie takes Green Star BOB and GROUP 2 Prada gets her first Reserve Green Star from Puppy Bitch Class
